A PEARL ANNIVERSARY
Date: 2005 Season
The 2005 season marked an illustrious milestone for Bobby Bowden, his 30th season as FSU head coach. Since 1976, Bowden had led the Seminoles into battle each fall weekend. Bowden created a legacy at Florida State unmatched by most others in the game. He coached two Heisman winners and a multitude of NFL draft picks, won two National Championships, all while finishing as an AP top-5 program for 14 consecutive seasons. What else was special about the 2005 season? FSU defeated the No. 5 Virginia Tech Hokies in the first ACC Championship Game in conference history.
