A FINE FRESHMAN

As a freshman in 2007, midfielder Amanda DaCosta started all 27 games for the Seminoles. She registered her first career goal in a 10-0 win over Francis Marion in September. DaCosta also scored the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute of the College Cup Final Four over No. 11 Notre Dame, sending the Seminoles to their first College Cup Final in program history. Though the team would ultimately fall to No. 9 Southern California, DaCosta cemented herself as a mainstay of the midfield for years to come. For her efforts, DaCosta accumulated a multitude of awards including ACC All-Freshman, ACC All-Tournament Team and the 2007 Freshman of the Year by Soccer Buzz.
