A CUTT ABOVE THE COMPETITION

G Christian Hunnicutt chipped in two points and three assists off the bench as No. 3 FSU defeated No. 14 North Carolina A&T in the first round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament. Although Hunnicutt was limited that sophomore season, she played a much larger role during her final two years in Tallahassee. As a senior in 2010-11, Hunnicutt recorded 153 total rebounds and 29 steals. She also locked down ACC opponents with an incredible 18-of-84 shooting on her defensive assignments. It wasn’t a big surprise when Hunnicutt earned conference-wide recognition as 2011 ACC Defensive Player of the Year and a member of the ACC All-Defensive Team.
