MADE IT HAPPEN

Seen here is George Langford, lovingly known as the “Father of Seminole Boosters.” Though Langford did not attend FSU, he was a founding member of the Seminole Boosters Board of Directors and would serve six terms as the FSU Foundation Chair. Langford was essential to fundraising efforts to keep the Athletic Department afloat in the 1970s and the hiring of legendary head coach Bobby Bowden. For his efforts, Langford was inducted into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 1985. The space leading from the south end of Doak Campbell Stadium to the band shell was renamed to Langford Green in 1998 in honor of his generosity towards Florida State.
