IT’S A DUNN DEAL
Playing as a speedy, versatile running back from 1993 to 1996, Warrick Dunn finished his career with 37 rushing touchdowns and 3,959 rushing yards — a program record that stood until 2016. Dunn compiled 22 career 100-yard rushing games, including a standout performance against No. 1 Florida in 1996 that netted 185 yards on the ground. He also had good hands out of the backfield, tallying 132 receptions and 12 receiving TDs. In fact, Dunn’s 49 total touchdowns set another Seminole record. FSU retired Dunn’s No. 28 on January 22, 1997, several months before he was selected No. 12 overall in the 1997 NFL Draft. “You guys are making it so hard for me to leave. I want to come back for another year,” Dunn told the enthusiastic crowd during the retirement ceremony. The Seminole rooters’ reply? “Stay!”
