FRAMING GREATNESS
Date: March 8, 2008
Buster Posey began his FSU career as a shortstop and immediately became one of the most reliable players in the lineup. As a freshman in 2006, he started all 65 games, hit .346 and earned Freshman All-America honors. After moving to catcher in 2007, Posey continued to excel, batting .382, earning First-Team All-America recognition and finishing as a finalist for the Johnny Bench Award after just one season behind the plate. His consistency peaked during the 2008 season, when he reached base safely in 67 consecutive games, a still-standing record in Seminole baseball history. In recognition of his impact, the university inducted him into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018.
