WEAVING INTO HISTORY
Pitcher Luke Weaver received the 2014 ABCA Collegiate Rawlings Gold Glove Award in recognition of his stellar season for the Seminoles. The All-American notably pitched a complete-game, one-hit shutout in No. 1 FSU’s 6-0 victory over Boston College that season. “It’s something that I have always strived for,” Weaver said about throwing his first career complete game. “[Teammates] Leibrandt and Compton got theirs out of the way this year and I felt left out. But I went out there today just trying to be productive and get groundballs.” A scholar on and off the field, Weaver was also a three-time member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll. He was drafted in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals, starting a decade-plus career.
