MCCLOUD MAKES IT RAIN

No matter how sticky opposing defenses could be, G George McCloud was automatic from downtown. He set a program record with 10 3-pointers in a game against La Salle in February 1989, shattering the old mark of six. “We knew we’d have our hands full,” said La Salle forward Lionel Simmons. “George McCloud is probably one of the best shooters I’ve ever seen.” McCloud made a program-record 115 3-pointers in the 1988-89 season, hitting at least five behind the arc in 11 games. His 201 career 3-pointers remains in the top five in program history.
