Date: 1992 Season
As part of his banner 1992 season, LB Marvin Jones Sr. became the first Seminole to win the Lombardi Award as the nation’s top lineman. Along with his Butkus Award as the nation’s top linebacker, Jones Sr. took home two major awards in the same season — the first player in program history to do so. “I wish I could break this up in 11 pieces and give one to each of my teammates,” said Jones. “You can’t be a great linebacker without great linemen.” Jones, a three-year starter from Miami, remains in the top 10 in FSU history with 369 tackles.
