(KNOCKING) OFF THE RECORDS
Widely recognized as one of the greatest players in program history, M Mami Yamaguchi became the first Seminole to win the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy in 2007 as the top player in Division I soccer. Yamaguchi wrote her name all over the FSU record books that season: her seven consecutive games with a goal, 66 points, 24 goals and 18 assists all set program records. Yamaguchi was named ACC Offensive Player of the Year and NSCAA Player of the Year (now United Soccer Coaches Player of the Year), and she became the first consensus First Team All-American in program history. After her tremendous season, Yamaguchi announced she would forgo her final year of eligibility at FSU to play professionally in Sweden.
