BOWDEN’S FIELD DAY
Date: November 20, 2004
Under the Saturday night lights at Doak Campbell Stadium, FSU officially cemented Bobby Bowden’s legacy. One of the winningest head coaches in major college football history was honored as the stadium turf was renamed “Bobby Bowden Field.” In addition, the university unveiled a stained-glass window featuring an image of Bowden overlooking the field. The window was a work of artistic magic, containing 112 panels and 8,500 pieces of glass. According to ESPN, it was one of the five largest stained-glass windows in the United States at the time.
