TOURNAMENT RETURNS

After an appearance in 1983, the Seminoles made their first trips back to the NCAA Tournament in F Tia Paschal’s freshman 1989-90 and sophomore 1990-91 seasons. During that stretch, FSU went a combined 46-16 with a 23-6 record in the Metro Conference. Paschal’s stifling on-ball defense was a big part of FSU’s success, factoring into the 1991 NCAA Tournament when the Seminoles roundly defeated Appalachian State 96-57 in the opening round, making their first ever trip to the second round.
