FSU’s first NCAA Tournament match ended with fireworks in Tallahassee as the No. 14 Seminoles defeated Jacksonville, 4-1, to advance to the second round. After a scoreless first half, the breakthrough came quickly with M Amber Tollefson finishing a cross to spark a surge of goals. M Emma Breland added a score and later an assist, and G Sarah Crawford delivered key saves to steady the match when Jacksonville threatened. Head coach Patrick Baker summed up the postseason mindset: “At this time of the year it is all about survival and I think we survived tonight.”
