STRIKING GARNET AND GOLD
Date: September 21, 1997
As one of the original soccer Seminoles, F Alexandra Osorio helped shape the program’s identity in its early years. The striker from Miami emerged as a reliable scorer and four-time letterman from 1995 to 1998. On September 13, 1995, Osorio recorded the second-ever hat trick in program history (teammate F Kelly McGrath did so earlier in the same game) as FSU routed Jacksonville, 11-0. Later, in 1998, she became the second Seminole with a golden goal in an overtime victory over No. 15 Maryland, marking FSU’s first win over the Terrapins. Osorio led the team with 15 points in her freshman season and 12 in her junior season, ultimately finishing her career with 48 points, 16 goals and 16 assists.
