START OF THE KRIKORIAN ERA
Date: December 2, 2005
Momentum carried FSU back to the College Cup in 2005, as the Seminoles completed a landmark season that ended with a 20-4-1 record. No. 7 FSU faced No. 4 UCLA in the semifinal, where the Bruins claimed a 4-0 victory. Despite the score, the appearance marked a turning point for a program in just its 11th season, establishing Florida State as a national presence under first-year head coach Mark Krikorian. “I am really proud of our team,” Krikorian said afterward. “When I look at the balance of the season, it’s hard not to appreciate how far this group pushed the program forward.”
