STARS OUT IN TALLAHASSEE
Lakeland native F Cindy Schofield became FSU’s first big soccer star during her four seasons from 1999 to 2002. She finished second on the team with 17 points (five goals, seven assists) in her sophomore campaign and led the squad as a junior with 42 points (17 goals, eight assists) and senior with 36 points (15 goals, six assists). In fact, Schofield’s 42-point season stood as a program record until 2007. That year, Schofield scored her first career goal in an overtime victory over Duke, netted her first career hat trick against Miami and enjoyed a five-point performance against Maryland in the ACC tournament. When she left Tallahassee, Schofield was the program’s leader with 40 goals and 102 points. She remains in the top five for each category today.
