SOUND THE VICTORY
Date: November 21, 1964
This red megaphone marks a turning point in FSU football history — the program’s first-ever victory over the University of Florida in modern program history. On November 21, 1964, in front of a raucous home crowd at Doak Campbell Stadium, the Seminoles defeated the Gators 16-7 in the rivalry’s first Tallahassee meeting. QB Steve Tensi connected with future NFL Hall of Famer WR Fred Biletnikoff for a 55-yard touchdown, while K Les Murdock nailed three field goals to seal the win. The triumph ended a frustrating streak of six straight losses or ties against their in-state rivals and ignited a new era of competitive fire.
