SHOES THAT SHOOK DEFENSES
Date: 1990s
These game-worn cleats belonged to Peter Warrick, the electric wide receiver who left defenders grasping at air during one of the most thrilling careers in FSU history. His career totals — 207 receptions for 3,517 yards and 32 receiving touchdowns — are impressive, but stats alone don’t tell the full story. It was how he did it, with flair, precision and a feel for the moment that set him apart. In the 2000 Sugar Bowl against Virginia Tech and a future NFL MVP named Michael Vick, Warrick racked up over 160 receiving yards, two touchdown catches and even returned a punt for a score. He earned MVP honors and helped cement FSU’s second national title with a convincing 46-29 victory.
