SECOND TO NONE
When he hung up his uniform for the final time, G Bob Sura secured his place as one of the greatest Seminoles to ever play the game. Over four seasons from 1991 to 1995, Sura became the program’s leading scorer with 2,130 points — the first and only player to reach the 2,000-point mark. He also set program records with 731 field goals and 214 3-pointers (since broken). On January 15, 1995, Sura became the second player in program history with a triple-double, recording 19 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists against North Carolina State. Competing in the basketball-rich ACC, Sura was the first player in conference history with 2,000 points, 700 rebounds, 400 assists and 200 steals. Simply put, Sura’s legacy was unprecedented. “I never knew how good I was or how good I could be,” Sura said. “I wasn’t one of those kids who grew up dreaming of being someone special. Where I’m from, it was hard to imagine stuff like that.”
