SAVING A CHAMPIONSHIP
Date: December 6, 2021
Goalkeeper Cristina Roque wore these gloves during the 2021 College Cup Championship. Facing off against No. 13 BYU, Roque defended the net against one of the most dominant teams in college soccer. When the game entered a penalty shootout after a scoreless regulation and two overtime periods, Roque stepped up to the mark. She made two remarkable saves in the shootout, helping No. 1 FSU to a 4-3 victory on penalty kicks and the third National Championship for the Seminoles. For her efforts, Roque was named the Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the College Cup.
