NATIONALLY DOMINANT

From the beginning of the 2008 season, the Seminoles were contenders for the National Championship. The Noles were teeming with stars like C Buster Posey, OF Tyler Holt and P Matt Fairel. For all but one week of the regular season, the team was ranked in the top 10 in many of the national polls. The Seminoles started off hot, going on a 12-0 run. After collecting the ACC Atlantic Division championship, the Seminoles made a strong NCAA Tournament run, advancing through the Regional and Super Regional en route to their 18th College World Series. FSU finished the season tied for seventh in the country, an indelible mark. As a team, the Seminoles won this Golden Field Award for their heroics throughout the season.
