MONROE’S BLOCK PARTY
Date: 2008-09 Season
Opposing shooters risked a swatted shot anytime F/C Jacinta Monroe was in the area. During the 2008-09 season, Monroe led the Seminoles with 84 blocks, setting a new program record (since broken). She was just as valuable on the other side of the court, leading the team with 13.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. The phenom from Fort Lauderdale was part of FSU’s back-to-back ACC regular season co-championship teams in 2009 and 2010, making the ACC All-Defensive Team in both years. At the end of her Seminole career, Monroe’s 301 blocked shots were the most in program history.
