LOMBARDI LOVE
This football from the 30th Annual Lombardi Award ceremony is autographed by four of college football’s most dominant defensive players from the 1999 season — Corey Simon (FSU), Corey Moore (Virginia Tech), LaVar Arrington (Penn State) and Courtney Brown (Penn State). Simon, FSU’s powerful senior nose guard, anchored a defense that helped lead the Noles to a perfect 12-0 season and a spot in the BCS National Championship game. After playing a major role in the Seminole national title run, Simon would go on to be a first-round NFL draft pick. Though Moore of Virginia Tech ultimately won the Lombardi Award that year, the presence of all four finalists on this single football speaks to the elite level of defensive talent in college football that season.
