LIVING UP TO EXPECTATIONS
In-state star F Cindy Schofield came to the Seminoles as the all-time leading goal scorer in Florida girls high school soccer history. Schofield’s reputation preceded her and she continued to live up to that legacy during her time in Tallahassee. From 1999 to 2002, Schofield found the back of the net 40 times, which remains in the top five in program history. Considering that the FSU soccer program was just four years old when Schofield joined, she played a significant role in elevating it into the national powerhouse it is today. In a later interview, Schofield fondly recalled Seminole soccer, saying, “My years at FSU were the most memorable ones of my life.” FSU felt the same, making Schofield the first soccer player inducted into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013.
