LIGHT UP DOAK

Night games are some of the most anticipated events every football season. Every player dreams of playing under the lights, especially in a football palace as distinguished as Doak Campbell Stadium. While stadium lights have always been present in some capacity at Doak, it wasn’t until an expansion in 1964 introduced lights like these. That year’s expansion brought Doak Campbell Stadium to a capacity of 40,000 (up from 25,000 in a 1961 expansion). The increased capacity and significantly improved lighting infrastructure paved the way for larger crowds of the Seminole faithful to see their team and take on some of college football’s best competition.
