LEADING THE WAY TO PROGRAM HISTORY
Date: 1980s
F Sue Galkantas was FSU’s consummate leader. That was never more evident than during the 1982-83 season, when she helped lead the Seminoles to their first NCAA Tournament berth on the strength of a 24-6 record. FSU also finished atop the Metro Conference with a 5-1 record in Metro play thanks in large part to Galkantas’ efficient scoring attack, which included shooting 57 percent from the field and 80 percent from the free throw line — both career highs.
