IT’S ALL LOVE
Peter Warrick and coach Bobby Bowden celebrated with the 1999 National Championship trophy, ending an up-and-down season for Warrick with college football’s biggest team honor. Warrick, a star wide receiver who skipped the 1999 NFL Draft with hopes of winning a title that season, was suspended early in the campaign and saw his Heisman stock drop. Yet Warrick remained committed to the Seminoles and keeping the undefeated season alive. He led the team with 934 yards and eight receiving touchdowns, despite the two-game suspension. In the Sugar Bowl, a 46-29 victory for the Noles, Warrick scored a record 20 points and was named the game’s MVP. “I came back because I love coach Bowden, and I love everyone on the team with us,” Warrick said. “When I got in that trouble, Coach B. stepped it up for me. I won this game for him.”
