G Alysha Harvin made it look easy as she went for a layup against No. 14 North Carolina A&T in the first round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament. Harvin’s team-high 18 points led No. 3 FSU to an 83-71 victory. “She’s been our fireball as far as being out there like she is,” said teammate Mara Freshour. “She’s undersized, but you would never know it from all the games we play. But we let her know (that we rely on her) in pretty much every game we play.” Though the Seminoles fell short in the second round of the 2009 tournament, Harvin returned for a deeper playoff run in her senior season of 2009-10. In four 2010 NCAA Tournament games, Harvin hit nine shots behind the arc. She finished her career with 117 3-pointers and remains in the program’s top 20.
