GARNET AND GOLD AND ORANGE
Presented to FSU by the Orange Bowl Committee in 2009, this commemorative football celebrates the program’s longstanding relationship with one of college football’s most storied postseason games. The ball honors FSU’s appearances in the Orange Bowl in 1980, 1981, 1993, 1994, 1996, 2001, 2004 and 2006, a reflection of the program’s rise and sustained success under Bobby Bowden. From the thrilling 18-16 victory over Nebraska in the 1993 National Championship Game to multiple matchups with top-ranked opponents, these games became defining moments for the Seminoles. The design of the ball, which features the Orange Bowl’s 75th anniversary logo and the Seminole head logo, nods to the mutual respect between FSU and one of the sport’s premier stages.
