GANO’S VIDEO GAME NUMBERS
In 2008, PK Graham Gano led FBS in field goals made by going 24-of-26. He became the first Seminole to convert over 90 percent of his field goals in a season, as well as the first Seminole with five field goals from 50-plus yards in a season. Given his success, it wasn’t a big surprise when Gano took home the Lou Groza Award as the nation’s top kicker. Gano said he began imagining winning the award in high school. “I think it was the video game, the NCAA game, that’s when I first started hearing about (the award),” he said. “I always hoped for it. It’s pretty exciting. I don’t think it’s hit me yet.” Gano made his NFL debut in 2009 and later set a franchise record for the Carolina Panthers with a 63-yard field goal.
