COCO-NUTS FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP
Date: January 1, 1994
Coach Bobby Bowden took home several accolades following FSU’s game on January 1, 1994: the Orange Bowl trophy, the program’s first-ever National Championship and … a coconut? It’s unclear who exactly gifted Bowden with this fruit scrawled with a handwritten message, but coconuts are in abundance in Miami, where the Seminoles won the 1994 Orange Bowl and ultimately the national title. Coconuts, oranges and a Seminole championship. It doesn’t get sweeter than that!
