BOB’S BIG DANCE
Date: 1990s
G Bob Sura helped FSU make deep postseason runs in his freshman and sophomore seasons. Shown here going for a layup against No. 6 Georgetown, Sura’s nine points in that game helped No. 3 FSU to a 78-68 win in the second round of the 1992 NCAA Tournament. The victory advanced the Seminoles to their first Sweet 16 appearance in two decades. FSU went even further in the 1993 NCAA Tournament, earning an Elite Eight bid against No. 1 Kentucky. Although Sura never reached the Final Four as a Seminole, he had several playoff bids as a professional. The Cleveland Cavaliers picked Sura No. 17 overall in the 1995 NBA Draft before he enjoyed a 10-year professional career.
