BEV THERE, DONE THAT
Bev Burnett came to FSU ahead of 1984-85 season and would leave as one of the program’s most prolific athletes. The guard set a program record for scoring (since broken), hitting 34 points twice in her career. Burnett averaged 21.3 points per game in her breakout season of 1987-88, still one of the top five season averages in program history. A team captain, Burnett was also the program’s third-ever All-American, earning Third Team honors in 1988. Recognizing her impact on the basketball world, Burnett was part of the 2009 class of ACC Women’s Basketball Legends, the fifth Seminole to receive the honor. FSU showed their appreciation for the Tallahassee native a few years later by inducting Burnett into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012.
