AP CROWNS THE NOLES
Date: January 1, 1994
After finishing the 1993 season with a 12-1 record and a dramatic Orange Bowl win over Nebraska, FSU was voted No. 1 in the final Associated Press poll, earning this AP National Champion trophy. The AP poll had long been a definitive measure of college football greatness, and this marked FSU’s first national title under legendary head coach Bobby Bowden. The clean lines and wood finish of the trophy reflected the dignity and history of the sport, while the gold-lettered oval crowned the dominant Seminole season with national recognition.
