ALAMEDA AT THE HELM

Lonni Alameda guided the Seminoles to their first NCAA National Championship in 2018, the culmination of a program she methodically rebuilt into a national power. Entering her 10th season as head coach that year, Alameda had already led FSU to consistent NCAA postseason appearances, multiple ACC championships and repeated trips to the Women’s College World Series (WCWS). The 2018 championship validated Alameda’s long-term vision, blending pitching depth, aggressive baserunning and postseason composure to carry the Seminoles through the WCWS loser’s bracket and on to the title.
