A SUE-PER STAR
Date: 1980s
Following an elite career from 1980 to 1984, F Sue Galkantas set nearly every individual record in program history. She is still the Seminole all-time leading scorer with 2,323 points — more than any male or female player in FSU basketball history. Galkantas also remains in the program’s top five for rebounds and double-doubles, a testament to her versatile playmaking abilities. In 1989, FSU retired Galkantas’ No. 43, making her the first woman student-athlete with a retired number in FSU athletics history. Galkantas was also inducted into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame that same year.
