A SEASON WORTH ETCHING

The 1979 season stands as a strong chapter in FSU baseball history under the direction of Dick Howser. That year, the Seminoles finished 43-17-1 and advanced to the NCAA East Regional Tournament hosted in Tallahassee, bringing postseason baseball to campus. Florida State’s run ended with losses to Florida and Delaware, but the season reflected the program’s growing stature, highlighted by a roster that included six future Major League Baseball players and coached by one of the greatest former Seminole players.
