A LEADER ON THE FIELD

In the 2002 NCAA Tournament, forward Cindy Schofield scored game-winning goals in FSU’s first two matches of the tournament. She scored both goals in the 2-0 victory over Ole Miss in the first round. In the second-round matchup against Auburn, the Seminoles found themselves in a tie late in the second half. In the 87th minute, Schofield slipped the ball in at the near post to give the Garnet and Gold a 2-1 lead they wouldn’t relinquish. Though FSU’s run would end in the Sweet 16, Schofield assuredly made her mark in the Seminole soccer history book!
