- A GENERATIONAL RIVALRY
A GENERATIONAL RIVALRY
Date: November 4, 1960
FSU has enjoyed a storied rivalry with in-state neighbor Miami for generations. The matchup dates back to 1951, with dozens of regular-season meetings and six games when both teams were ranked in the top-5 of the AP poll. For all those games played, FSU and Miami have met only once in the postseason: the 2004 Orange Bowl, where the Seminoles narrowly fell in a 16-14 defensive battle.
