A BANNER YEAR
The 2007 season was one to remember for Mami Yamaguchi. The midfielder won the 2007 MAC Hermann Trophy, given to the top player in Division I soccer. She was the first MAC Hermann winner in program history. Yamaguchi was also named the 2007 NSCAA Player of the Year (now United Soccer Coaches Player of the Year) as well as the 2007 ACC Offensive Player of the Year. “I am so thrilled for Mami,” said head coach Mark Krikorian. “This award is not only an honor for the great season Mami had but for the outstanding year our team had in 2007.” Adding to her list of accomplishments, Yamaguchi became the first consensus first-team All-American in program history. She earned first-team All-American honors from Soccer Buzz, Soccer America and NSCAA.
