WIRE-TO-WIRE, WIN-TO-WIN
Date: 1999 Season
FSU took home the 1999 AP College Football National Champion trophy after securing a 46-29 victory over Virginia Tech in the 2000 Nokia Sugar Bowl. That magical season, the Seminoles became the first team in college football history to rank No. 1 wire-to-wire in the AP poll. The AP first introduced its preseason poll in 1950; ironically, that year was the last time FSU went undefeated in a season, going 8-0 and winning the Dixie Conference Championship. Forty-nine years later, the Seminoles claimed a bigger prize.
