BOWDEN BOWS OUT ON TOP

Bobby Bowden bowed out a winner on January 1, 2010. In his final game as head coach, FSU erased an early 14-3 deficit and defeated No. 18 West Virginia, 33-21, in the Gator Bowl. RB Jermaine Thomas scored twice as the Seminoles produced 20 unanswered points to take control. The victory closed the 2009 season with a 7-6 record, preserved FSU’s 33rd consecutive winning campaign and gave Bowden a fitting farewell after 34 seasons leading the Garnet and Gold.
