SHE’S THAT GIRL
F Jordynn Dudley burst on the collegiate soccer scene in a big way during her freshman campaign. She led the Noles with 37 points (tied with F Onyi Echegini) and finished second on the team with 14 goals. Dudley also contributed 10 points (four goals, two assists) during the 2023 NCAA Tournament as FSU sought their second championship in three years. The native of Milton, Georgia, scored the game’s lone goal in the second-round victory over Texas A&M and netted another in the rout of Texas in the Sweet 16. Her unassisted score against No. 7 Clemson clinched the College Cup Final Four and sent the Noles back to the title game. There, Dudley opened the scoring with a successful penalty kick in the 29th minute. “All season she stepped up in a way that I’ve never seen before,” said M Leilanni Nesbeth. “It is shocking. It’s phenomenal. She is that girl.” Dudley’s score kickstarted a five-goal outburst against No. 3 Stanford and ultimately secured the National Championship.
