GARNET AND GOLD GOES OFFICIAL
Date: January 25, 1994
On January 25, 1994, the State of Florida issued an official resolution commemorating FSU’s first National Championship. Signed by Governor Lawton Chiles and members of the Florida Cabinet, the document praised head coach Bobby Bowden, QB Charlie Ward and the Seminoles football team for their historic 1993 season. The resolution recognized FSU’s leadership in collegiate athletics and the team’s hard-fought Orange Bowl win over Nebraska, which secured a No. 1 ranking in the AP poll and a place in college football history. The framed proclamation stands as a proud reminder of statewide recognition for the Garnet and Gold.
