Senior M Yujie Zhao knew the road to the National Championship quite well. After earning ACC Freshman of the Year honors in 2018, Zhao led the charge toward FSU’s eventual National Championship that season, converting the final penalty kick against No. 6 USC in an exciting Sweet 16 matchup. Three years later, history would repeat itself! Zhao’s ability to successfully convert penalty kicks proved pivotal in the 2021 College Cup Championship Game, where her shot helped the Seminoles to a 4-3 shootout victory.
